Alex Massé (often referred to simply as “Alex”) is a French Canadian game developer from Montréal and the creator of Paralives.

He currently leads Paralives Studio and oversees the development of the game.

Alex is a professional software engineer, game designer, and artist. As a lifelong fan of simulation and city-building games, Alex sees Paralives as an ideal opportunity to create powerful building tools and simulation elements he has always wanted to play with. Alex has been creating games since high school, 13 years ago.[2] He has worked on games such as PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator, demo projects for Unity’s Project Tiny, educational games for children, and has participated in numerous Game Jams.

Alex speaks both English and French.

Creation of Paralives

After starting work on the project in September 2018, he quit his previous job in 2019[3] to work full-time on the game.

Alex began publicly discussing Paralives on his brand-new Twitter account in June 2019[4]. At that time, he was the only person working on the project.

This was followed a few days later by the first-ever reveal of in-game footage in a tweet, which was also published on YouTube[5]. He held an AMA on Patreon the following month[6].

He remained the only developer until October 2019, when Léa Sorribès became the first hire.
